甫卸下國民黨發言人的楊偉中，利用周末南下嘉義陪妻小，昨日帶著7歲大的女兒楊頎，趕搭霜淇淋熱潮，2人一早直奔便利商店親體驗，看著原本不愛吃草莓的女兒，卻被草莓口味的霜淇淋深深吸引，讓楊偉中驚嘆，直呼「霜淇淋魅力果然無法擋。」
 
由於適逢妻子陳以真爭取嘉義市長初選期間，是否會進駐嘉義，幫忙輔選？楊偉中則說，目前生活重心仍在台北，初選階段不會加入輔選，至於以後的事，就「再說」吧。（簡志偉／嘉義報導）
