2014年索契冬運，第二位出場的台灣選手，在男子競速滑冰500公尺項目，以總成績71秒36名列第三十三名。

宋青陽曾在2010年廣州亞運競速滑輪溜冰拿下2面金牌，之後轉戰冰刀，在2013年的冬季世界大學運動會1000公尺奪下銅牌。

這次索契冬運，宋青陽第一圈滑出35秒732，第二圈滑出35秒63，名列第三十三名，前三名都被荷蘭選手所包辦。

結束500公尺項目後，宋青陽還有1000公尺項目要比，此項目預定在台灣時間13日下午3點展開，13日當天另一位台灣選手呂明龍也要在短道競速滑冰中項目登場。
